Life Underground 2023
12x11 inch & 11x12inch, ink on paper & colored digitally
This is my original illustration series about how I imagine the world and human life in the future:
Two centuries in the future, ecological devastation forces humanity underground. But even underground, not all areas were safe. Protection shields only guarantee air quality within certain regions, and breathing masks when traveling between areas.
Food sources have become remarkably uniform. The gap between the rich and the poor becomes even wider—the rich live in intelligent advanced oxygen apartments with simulated terrestrial scenarios, and top-notch medical technology. The poor live in overcrowded communities and slums. Electricity is an essential resource in the world underneath, but the allocation of batteries is under the control of the rich. Sadly, the quantity of reliable batteries available to the poor is dismally scarce.
