Nine Zhao is a visual artist & observer of the intangible
Her artistic sensibility is driven by playful shapes, dopamine-rich colors, movable characters, and personal stories. She works across both print and non-print media, including animated GIFs, digital drawings, prints, and handmade crafts that bring a tactile, intimate quality to her practice. She draws inspiration from personal memories and everyday objects—a lamp, a dining table—transforming them into a unique visual language.Nine lives in Baltimore, MD, currently pursuing an M.F.A. in the Illustration Practice program at the Maryland Institute College of Art.
