For the Image Harvest Show at MICA, I created a series of four GIFs titled Mental Illnesses – Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, and Schizophrenia. In this series, I illustrated mental health issues as monster figures. To me, these monsters are living entities that exist alongside people, sometimes appearing next to them, and other times transforming into them. They are everywhere. We can find ways to coexist with them or learn how to navigate their presence, though I also welcome other interpretations of these creatures.BipolarAnxietyDepressionSchizophrenia
Image Harvest Show 2024 - Monsters With Mental Health IssuesMy deep interest in psychology and mental health drove this project. I want people to pay more attention to both their physical and emotional well-being, and I hope my work can help foster understanding of these issues.
In the end, I hope everyone’s well and good
Monsters. They lurk around us—or sometimes, within us. Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, Schizophrenia… These are terms we hear more frequently. But what are they? Should we be afraid? Should we worry? Or is there a way to coexist with them?
