Beginning and Ending

Concept
For our stop-motion film Time to Poop, Feibai and I created different characters pooping on two planets. We used modeling clay, wool felt, pipe cleaners, and colored paper to craft the characters and backgrounds. For filming, we used Dragon Frame to shoot and preview our photos. We set up two types of scenes—one three-dimensional with a camera at eye level, and one flat scene with the camera positioned overhead.
The concept was simple: we wanted to make something fun that would make people laugh. Inspired by the stop-motion film Enough, I was drawn to the idea of creating something quick, playful, and humorous.

We both love silly, lighthearted ideas, so we brainstormed separately and then shared our concepts. We both liked the idea of different characters pooping, which felt like a great opportunity to bring our character designs to life. Since our styles differ, we decided to create characters from two planets but with a shared action, connecting the stories.

We each designed our own characters—Feibai focused on real-life animals while I used imaginary creatures from my doodle book. Throughout the process, we discussed materials, colors, backgrounds, and how to connect the two planets. In the stop-motion studio, we took turns—one of us controlling Dragon Frame for composition and previewing, while the other moved the physical objects frame by frame. I edited the final footage in Premiere Pro, and Feibai found the soundtrack
